Solare Commitments & Sundial
Solare Collegiate’s community is guided by the Solare Collegiate Commitments and our Sundial. Our community commitments are as follows:
Solare Collegiate Commitments:
I commit to keeping myself and others safe
I commit to walking my talk
I commit to seeking diversity of perspective
I commit to leaving no community member behind
I commit to speaking from my heart but using my head
I commit to speaking to the person, not about the person
I commit to working the Sundial
I commit to showing up with grit
The sundial is a visual representation as well as a metaphor for how Solare Collegiate approaches school culture and student identity development, including our approach on student growth and development. Sundials are used to help determine time, as well as directionality.
At Solare Collegiate, we encourage our students to use the Solare Collegiate Sundial to determine what support and development they need within a given time, as well as the direction in which they strive to go. As a community, we have developed a series of dimensions, disciplines, and habits to support our students’ exploration of their own identity and its further development. As our students move around the sundial, they are developing and refining the dimensions, disciplines, and habits supporting their identity and personal development.
