Solare Distance Learning Schedule
UPDATED DISTANCE LEARNING PLAN- APRIL 6, 2020
Dear Scholars,
I miss seeing each of you at school so much-- but I am so proud that each of you are continuing to work hard, preparing to continue to excel at Solare Collegiate, in high school, in college, and beyond. Below is the information for using your chromebook, your email address, and Google Classroom.
Please feel free to let me know how classes are going and how we can better support each of you in your learning.
I believe in you,
Ms. Sewards
We will begin school on Monday at 8:30am for AM Advisory. Your teachers will send you a private Zoom link to your school email address. During Monday’s AMA, the teachers will review how you will participate in each of your classes each day, as well as your new schedule.

Internet Connection and Devices:
In order to continue educating our students, we will be moving all our content online. This means that you should have internet access at home and each student in your household should have a device they can use for their schoolwork. Most schools will be moving their educational content online as well and it will be very hard to share a device between students, especially since we expect Solare Collegiate students to be connected during the following class hours, 8:30am - 3pm.
If you do not have internet access at home:
Xfinity is giving users free access to their community hotspots-- and our community is within their service area.
If you are not in an Xfinity hotspot accessible area, please reach out to Jane Guevara, jguevara@solarecollegiate.org and we can assist you in getting internet access.
If the Solare Collegiate scholar does not have a device at home
We understand that not all students and families have access to technology like Chromebooks at home to complete work. So, we are going to loan our computers to you during this time! They have been sanitized and are ready to pick up if you need them during the hours of 9am-2pm March 30 and March 31. Chromebooks are laptops that do not have all the same capabilities and require wifi to work.
You can receive a chromebook from school:
If you do not already have a laptop, chromebook, or iPad that is connected to wifi. Do not come for a chromebook if you already have devices at home.
If you have wifi at home
If you are able to set up your phone to be a mobile hotspot (see the other document with instructions)
If you plan to get wifi installed at home
Please keep the following in mind as you use your devices:
Your children should not go to a friend or family member’s home to use someone else’s device if possible. This is to try to ensure that students and families practice social distancing.
Please email jguevara@solarecollegiate.org if you would like to borrow a chromebook for the school. We have limited numbers of chromebooks available and need to know how many families need to access one.
Getting academic materials:
All learning materials will be available online via the Solare Collegiate website www.solarecollegiate.org/distance-learning
Scholars will access their academic materials via Google Classroom. During Spring Break, we will assign each child a Solare Collegiate email address, as well as online learning logins for Zearn, Prodigy, and Accelerated Reader. Login credentials will be given when scholars pick up their chromebooks and to parent email. .
